Job summary

Stanford University’s Computer Science Department seeks a Program Manager to provide high-level administrative and operational support for the Human Computer Interaction and Movement Lab groups. You will manage calendars, travel, events, budgets, and sponsored project support with minimal supervision.

The role requires exceptional organization, initiative, and the ability to coordinate hiring, onboarding, and ongoing student/postdoc support across domestic and international activities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with six years of administrative experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Act on behalf of supervisor in establishing priorities and resolving administrative problems.
  • Prepare background information for meetings and participate on supervisor’s behalf.
  • Schedule, organize, and run complex conferences, seminars, and events within budget.
  • Draft documents for presentations, grants, conferences, and reports; edit and fact-check materials.
  • Plan calendars, resolve conflicts, and arrange travel per policies.
  • Create complex reports and spreadsheets; make data-based recommendations.
  • Oversee or process a variety of financial transactions; monitor budgets and vendor selections.
  • Coordinate office moves and remodeling; manage routine changes.
  • Summarize material for briefing purposes.
