Job summary

About the Opportunity
Job Summary

The Massachusetts Promise Fellowship (MPF) is a full‑time AmeriCorps program housed out of the Office of Community Service and Civic Engagement at Northeastern University. The Program Manager works as part of the Fellowship staff team to support 40 full‑time AmeriCorps members serving statewide, including attending monthly Fellowship meetings and events and building positive relationships with Fellows. The Program Manager oversees key program areas, including a portfolio of community partner sites, evaluation and data collection, community engagement initiatives, and Fellow recruitment. This role leads program evaluation requirements, supports data analysis and reporting, manages recruitment initiatives, and contributes to the broader Community Service and Civic Engagement department.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Fellow Support & Program Management
  • Attend all Fellow meetings, retreats, and events
  • Manage and support a portfolio of 10-14 community partner sites and Fellows through regular check‑ins, site visits, and progress reports
  • Lead 10-14 Fellow site visits annually
  • Serve as a mediator for personnel matters, including conflict management, disputes, and performance management
  • Manage and support all Fellows in successfully completing program requirements
  • Manage 1-2 Senior Fellows
  • Oversee program work‑study students
  • Co‑lead trainings for members on leadership development and program requirements
Data & Evaluation
  • Lead program data collection requirements
  • Collect, assess, and compile Fellow and program accomplishment data
  • Disseminate pre‑ and post‑survey tools, manage collection processes, and conduct statistical analysis
  • Track program outcomes and ensure compliance with federal funders
  • Complete required AmeriCorps reports
  • Design reports and communications focused on program impact
  • Monitor program compliance related to member timesheets, reporting, and documentation
  • Support Fellows in completing data collection requirements
  • Lead evaluation and reporting trainings for Fellows and community partner sites
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance on evaluation requirements
  • Manage the Fellow service hour tracking system, monthly reporting, and program evaluations
  • Lead external evaluation activities with evaluation consultant
  • Facilitate evaluation meetings
  • Create and finalize surveys, disseminate to Fellows, and conduct preliminary data cleaning
  • Support Director in writing annual federal grant application
Community Engagement Initiatives
  • Lead a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and Leadership event in partnership with host sites and members
  • Develop grant processes, manage logistics, oversee project completion, and provide ongoing support
  • Market events and support project execution
Fellow Recruitment
  • Lead annual recruitment efforts to identify and select 40 AmeriCorps Fellows
  • Develop recruitment strategy, including application process, interviews, host site coordination, materials, tracking systems, and outreach efforts
  • Ensure compliance with AmeriCorps recruitment standards
  • Conduct information sessions for prospective applicants
  • Develop annual recruitment strategies, including social media promotion
  • Support Fellow onboarding processes
Community Service & Civic Engagement Responsibilities
  • Serve as an integral member of the Community Service and Civic Engagement team
  • Attend regular department meetings
  • Support university events and initiatives through planning, coordination, and attendance
  • Assist in general departmental operations
  • Complete additional duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
