Job summary

NC Department of Transportation is seeking a Program Manager I to oversee federal and state transportation funding for local government projects. The role involves coordinating planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management across disciplines, acting as a primary liaison within LPMO and with stakeholders.

You will work on cradle-to-grave oversight of programs, ensure compliance with statutes and regulations, and support grants administration and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of program experience related to the area of assignment, including one year of supervisory program experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer federal and state funded transportation programs to local government sponsors.
• Coordinate, facilitate, guide, oversee, analyze, and provide feedback on planning activities, project implementation, and fund administration to local government sponsors.
• Provide technical, including engineering and fiscal, assistance and guidance within the Local Programs Management Office (LPMO).
• Serve as chief liaison between the LPMO and other inter- and intra-agency personnel.
• Lead the development of project scope, schedule, budget, risk and manage overall project quality.
• Coordinate and communicate with all project team members and stakeholders across multiple disciplines to ensure timely decisions and next steps.
