Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks an experienced Insurance Operations leader to manage the COE, redesign the SharePoint site and database, and develop comprehensive reports for senior management. You will oversee end-to-end insurance products, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with Legal, actuarial, and claims teams across Ford and its ecosystem.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Insurance or related field and 10 years of Captive/P&C insurance experience, with strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
• 10 years of experience in Captive Insurance Management or related P&C Insurance roles (product management, underwriting, and/or claims)
• Understanding and ability to work in SharePoint to develop a database and resulting reports
• Experience managing insurance products end-to-end (policy issuance, renewals, coverage review)
• Solid understanding of P&C policy structure, including policy language, endorsements, and Declaration pages
• Knowledge of state insurance regulatory requirements, including rate, rule, and form filing processes
• Understanding of claims handling processes and ability to liaise with field adjusters
• Familiarity with loss prevention/loss control principles
• Proven ability to act as a subject-matter expert and single point of contact for assigned products
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience presenting to senior leadership

Responsibilities

• Manage the Insurance Operations COE (Center of Excellence)
• Redesign and enhance the COE SharePoint site and database housing Ford’s insurance relationships across the enterprise
• Develop, create and submit database reports to team members and senior management
• Monitor department subscriptions, donations and memberships
• Act as the insurance expert for the Ford Enterprise; coordinate with other Insurance departments
• Complete competitor analysis and documentation for Insurance Operations products and potential new products
• Work with Learning & Development on training for Insurance Operations employees
• Manage assigned insurance products and projects end-to-end
• Serve as subject-matter expert and single point of contact for assigned products
• Evaluate product quality, identify enhancements, verify customer needs and ensure program competitiveness
• Review and update policy and endorsement language and obtain Legal concurrence
• Update Declaration pages and issue and renew policies by effective dates
• Work with AMRO field adjusters regarding coverage questions and claims
• Liaise with internal and external customers, administrators and agents
• Partner with Legal to ensure compliance with insurance laws
• Collaborate with Insurance Accounting and Financial Analysis on product understanding and reporting
• Work with Compliance on Rate & Rule and Policy Form filings
• Coordinate with Actuarial on rate reviews and present proposals for approval
• Provide reports and updates to senior management
• Verify adherence to policy terms, conditions and coverages
• Provide customer service to Ford Motor Company, Ford Credit and dealers
• Ensure compliance with Ford Global Policies and SOX requirements
• Oversee and administer loss prevention techniques
• Provide internal and external claims training assistance
• Complete the MCRP and resolve issues promptly
• Lead or participate in special projects
• Individual contributor with no direct reports

Requirements

• Solid understanding of P&C policy structure, including policy language, endorsements, and Declaration pages
• Working knowledge of state insurance regulatory requirements, including rate, rule, and form filing processes
• Understanding of claims handling processes and ability to liaise effectively with field adjusters
• Familiarity with loss prevention/loss control principles
• Proven ability to act as a subject-matter expert and single point of contact for assigned products
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to committees or senior leadership
• Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple products/initiatives simultaneously
• Excellent customer service orientation, with experience serving both internal and external stakeholders
• Attention to detail and a compliance-first mindset, particularly regarding regulatory and audit requirements (e.g., SOX)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
