Job summary

Google is seeking a Spares Program Manager to lead end‑to‑end sourcing and procurement for data center spares. You will coordinate across stakeholders, manage contracts, and drive supply chain readiness across multiple offices and time zones.

The role focuses on supplier engagement, pricing strategy, and executing global spares plans to ensure data centers remain fully stocked and resilient. Strong cross‑functional collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience in sourcing, including commercial negotiations and supplier management.
  • Experience working with electrical and mechanical commodities in the data center industry.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement processes for sourcing, procurement, PO fulfillment, and supplier engagement with a spares focus.
  • Develop end‑to‑end sourcing strategies for mechanical commodities aligned with technical requirements and business goals.
  • Negotiate and manage master supply agreements, statements of work, and other contracts to secure supply and control costs.
  • Drive supplier relationship management with regular reviews to monitor performance and identify improvements.
  • Manage product life cycles with suppliers through changes and end‑of‑life transitions.

Job description

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience in sourcing, including commercial negotiations and supplier management.
  • Experience working with electrical and mechanical commodities in the data center industry.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience managing cross‑functional or cross‑team projects.
  • Experience working with sourcing from manufacturers for industrial scale infrastructure products engaging on pricing, agreements, and PO fulfillment.
  • Able to excel in a highly ambiguous/unstructured environment.
  • Able to take existing systems and process and drive/suggest optimizations.
  • Able to take on complex and undefined asks and create strategies that can then be scaled and executed to drive results.
  • Employ critical thinking, exercise sound judgement and strong problem solving skills.

Data Centers Central Operations is responsible for keeping these sites operating efficiently and safely. Within the Data Centers Central Operations function, this role is part of the Spares Supply Chain team and will be accountable for the sourcing, planning, positioning, and delivery of critical spares ensuring that data centers have their spare parts available when they need them. This role and peer roles on this team are critical to keeping our data centers running worldwide.

As a Spares Program Manager, you are responsible for ensuring supply chain spares readiness for our Data Centers, with specific attention to supplier engagement, sourcing, and procurement operations. This includes managing supply chain risks, engaging suppliers on pricing and prioritization, building and executing supply chain strategies, developing and executing on contracts and engaging cross‑functionally to establish processes in a dynamic space.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $159,000 - $231,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
  • Create and successfully implement new processes centered around sourcing, procurement, PO fulfillment, and supplier engagement all with a spares lens.
  • Develop and execute end‑to‑end sourcing strategies for mechanical (and integrated products) commodities that align with the organization’s technical requirements and business objectives partnering with upstream and downstream streams to integrate spares needs and solicit support/escalation.
  • Negotiate and manage master supply agreements, statements of work, and other critical commercial contracts to secure supply and manage cost and govern them throughout execution in meeting spares needs/requirements.
  • Drive supplier relationship management by conducting regular operational and business reviews with key partners to monitor performance, address issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage the life cycle of products and components, working with suppliers to navigate changes, updates, and end‑of‑life transitions.
