Job summary

Google Cloud is seeking a Program Manager to lead complex, cross-functional projects across time zones and offices. You will plan requirements, manage schedules, identify risks, and keep stakeholders aligned from start to finish.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with SREs, Devs, PMs and Supply Chain to scale resource management, optimize capacity, and drive data-driven decisions that support global availability of Google’s cloud services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 5 years in program or project management.
  • Experience in capacity planning and managing cross-functional projects.
  • Experience with technical environments such as Google Cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Develop robust technical processes to scale Cloud’s resource management.
  • Maintain analytics to identify issues and propose data-driven solutions.
  • Own execution and coordinate with cross-functional teams across regions.
  • Manage hardware lifecycle for GCP machines in data centers and colocation facilities.
  • Prioritize capacity to ensure scalable availability for external customers.

Job description

  • Baby Bonding Leave: 18 weeks
  • Holidays: 13 paid days per year

Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
  • Experience in capacity planning.
  • Experience with technical environments such as google cloud.
Preferred qualifications
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Hardware or systems background to understand how technology changes influence our ability to grow.
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of the tools and elements of project management. Firm sense of accountability and ownership for the end-to-end project lifecycle.
  • Ability to use project management techniques to drive physical or development tasks to completion.
  • Aptitude for quantitative assessment and analysis across multiple technical disciplines.

US: $159000 - $230000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities
  • Learn more about benefits at Google .
  • Develop robust technical processes to scale Cloud’s resource management.
  • Maintain analytics to understand obscure problems, propose data-driven solutions, support proposed solutions, and own and manage the execution.
  • Have stewardship of regional health of Cloud's availability zones across the globe. Manage complexity, cost, and risk in partnership with cross-functional stakeholder teams across SREs, Devs, PMs, Supply Chain, Planning and Efficiency.
  • Manage hardware lifecycle for GCPs machines in both Google-owned Data Centers as well as Colocation facilities.
  • Prioritize and manage capacity to ensure GCP's external customers can scale by ensuring the right type of machines are available in the right place at the right time.
