Job summary

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead cross-functional, multi-disciplinary engineering projects within Google Cloud Platform. You will partner with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage risks, and deliver technical solutions from start to finish.

You will mentor teams on capacity planning, progress measurement, and process improvement while communicating tradeoffs to executives and engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in capacity planning, demand planning, or supply chain.
  • Experience working with engineering teams.
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Track record delivering complex software products and PM knowledge.
  • Ability to establish systems to improve processes with performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead several engineering program management efforts for a fast-paced engineering team.
  • Identify stakeholders and plan objectives and success criteria.
  • Manage project schedules and communicate issues to stakeholders.
  • Oversee release schedules and milestones to maintain high velocity.

Job description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Track record of successfully delivering complex software products, in-depth knowledge of project management
  • Ability to establish systems to continuously improve our business processes, products, or services on an ongoing basis, through measurement of performance, progress, and success metrics.
  • Exceptional skills influencing and delivering solutions in a highly complex, always changing, and nebulous environment.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and problem-solving skills. Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You’re equally comfortable explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

As a Technical Program Manager with Google Cloud Platform, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise, with a focus on capacity planning programs and processes. You proactively identify, organize, and lead portfolio activities and stakeholders in order to successfully deliver technical solutions. You scope, phase, and lead ambiguous cross-functional and cross-organizational challenges including delivering downstream change management, alongside your stakeholder team. You ensure alignment of senior cross-functional and cross-organizational stakeholders. You have advanced knowledge of the domain of your program. You also engage in community contributions to improve and sustain our culture and operations making Google a better place to work.

US: $163000 – $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Lead several engineering program management for a fast paced, innovative engineering team. Work hand-in-hand with our cross-organizational engineering, product and business stakeholders to deliver outstanding program outcomes alignment with business priorities.
  • Identify stakeholders and work with them to strategize, plan, and prioritize objectives and success criteria.
  • Manage project schedules, identify possible issues and clearly communicate them to project stakeholders and leadership.
  • Take responsibility for release schedules and milestones, keeping up a high velocity in a fast-paced environment.
