Job summary

The University of Houston Center for Student Empowerment seeks a Program Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of a small to mid-sized department, with a strong emphasis on first-generation student success and vulnerable populations. The role involves developing initiatives and coordinating engagement programs.

You will collaborate with campus partners to strengthen student success, retention, and graduation efforts, while managing programs, mentoring staff, and ensuring effective reporting

Qualifications

• Education: must have a 4-year degree or equivalent training.
• Experience: no experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop procedures for administering a small to medium-sized department or program.
• Oversee program expenditures and ensure adherence to budget.
• Provide guidance to subordinate staff and evaluate performance.
• Participate in creation of abstracts, research reports, funding proposals, operations and procedure manuals, and other written material.
• Review reports of budgets and activities.
• Prepare ad hoc reports as needed.
• Administer grants and grant-related communications, scholarships and other operations.
• Develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures.
• May serve as property custodian for the department.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
