Job summary

Caterpillar Defense is seeking a Program Manager to support the sales team for the machine segment. You will coordinate with internal product, engineering, sales and contracting groups, and external customers to translate unique requirements into marketable items, using federal contracting mechanisms.

Responsibilities include leading proposals, executing plans, negotiating changes, and aligning product offerings with customer needs.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial and US Government contracting, purchasing, and funding.
• Thorough knowledge of machine products, product applications, technology, and Caterpillar systems & processes.
• Ability to coordinate across internal teams and external customers to translate requirements into contracts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary customer focal point to resolve problems before, during, and after delivery.
• Lead major proposals including scope of supply, suppliers, pricing, and terms.
• Develop plans for program execution and monitor performance; negotiate changes.
• Develop and achieve annual business plan including revenue, costs, and profit.
• Identify product opportunities and determine technology enhancements for customers.
• Collaborate with Purchasing/Contracting to manage suppliers and subcontracts.
• Align customer requirements with commercial product offerings; contribute to NPI/CPI/NTI work.
• Evaluate problems and execution challenges; develop solutions and paths to execution.
• Set program priorities and create work plans to achieve results.
• Monitor quality goals and ensure adherence to standards; act on gaps.
• Travel to field sites up to 30% to monitor and resolve issues.
