The Ohio State University is seeking a Program Manager for the Emergency Medicine department. This role involves planning and coordinating the Graduate Medical Education Program, ensuring compliance with training requirements, and overseeing the evaluation process for residents.
Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree with experience in program planning and administration. In-depth knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with educational program materials is highly desired.
The position is regular full-time with office hours in Prior Hall.
Department: Medicine | Emergency Medicine
Program Manager to plan, administer and coordinate the Graduate Medical Education Program in Emergency Medicine; works closely with program leadership to develop and implement educational goals and methods for emergency medicine training; develops, establishes and interprets program policies and procedures; performs annual review of program curricula; recommends curricula updates and new or revised educational materials; ensures program compliance with national emergency medicine/medical education training requirements and regulations; oversees resident performance and faculty teaching evaluation activities; manages resident evaluation process for department; coordinates special events including educational and training didactics, lectures, and conferences; proctors exams; participates in planning and developing annual operating budgets; administers approved annual budget; reviews, authorizes and monitors procurement and other fiscal expenditures; serves as liaison and attends departmental, institutional, and national meetings; serves as primary contact for prospective residents.
Bachelor's degree in education, business administration, or appropriate field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience in program planning and administration is required, preferably in a higher education setting. Experience and/or knowledge of medical residency training programs and graduate programs strongly desired. Experience with eValue, Vitals, and ERAS strongly desired. Experience in the organization of educational program materials desired. Experience in an academic medical setting and knowledge of medical terminology desired. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidates may be requested to complete a pre‑employment physical including a drug screen.
