Qualifications

  • Highschool or GED diploma required.
  • General mechanical/electrical/plumbing credentialing/training.
  • 5 years of small equipment repair and maintenance.
  • 3 years of management and supervision of employees.
  • Ability to read diagrams.
  • Ability to utilize basic hand tools (e.g., wrenches, screwdrivers).
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office tools, word processing and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight and supervision of DME, IL, and CDPCS departments.
  • Ensure efficient operation of the DME store, including inventory management, sanitation and maintenance, staff supervision, and customer service.
  • Collaborate with consumers, community partners, healthcare providers, and internal staff to facilitate access to durable medical equipment and independent living support.
  • Receive donated equipment, complete minor repairs, sanitize/clean, maintain equipment inventory, document work activities, and maintain records.
  • Protect PHI and confidentiality; ensure compliance with HIPAA.

Job Summary

The DME Program Manager supports Access Alaska, Inc.'s Independent Living mission of empowering individuals experiencing disabilities to live independently and interdependently within the community of their choice. This position provides leadership and administrative support to the daily operations of the Durable Medical Equipment (DME), Independent LivingAdvocacy, and Consumer Directed Personal Care Services (CDPCS) departments.

Responsibilities

Oversite andSupervision

Ensuring the efficient operation of theDurable Medical Equipment Store, including inventory management, equipment sanitation and maintenance, staff supervision, and customer service. The position collaborates with consumers, community partners, healthcare providers, and internal staff tofacilitateaccess to durable medical equipment and independent livingsupport.Receives donated equipment,the completion ofminor repairs, sanitizing/cleaning, maintain durable medical equipment;document work activities and maintain equipment inventory;required to safely use general repair hand tools and a specialized sanitizing and cleaning machine known as a Hub Scrub;work outside in various weather conditions; complete minor construction and repair work;andassureaccurate purchasing, repair and inventory records.

Education Skills

Highschool or general education development (GED) diploma.

Credentialing/Specialized traininggeneral mechanical/electrical/plumbing.

5 years ofsmallequipment repair and maintenance.

New employeesare responsible forthe cost of theinitialbackground check application. Unless other arrangements have been approved by the Accounting Department, the fee will be deducted from the employee's first paycheck.

Failure tomaintaina current and valid background check approval may result in the employee being ineligible to perform job duties. If an employee's approval expires before renewal approval is issued, the employee will be suspended from work and may not return to duty until a valid approval has been received.
