Schedule:
8:30a - 5:00p; Monday - Friday; schedule varies depending on program needs
Purpose:
The Program Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing school-based afterschool programming that focuses on teaching 21st-century skills and fostering social-emotional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Oversight: Provide leadership and oversight for the 21st AVE sites, ensuring that all activities align with the program’s goals of fostering 21st-century skills and social-emotional development.
- Program Coordination: Lead the planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of afterschool programming. Mentor and train program staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality, student-centered activities that integrate seamlessly with the school environment.
- Partnership Development: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with school leadership, teachers, and community partners. Develop collaborative agreements to support the delivery of comprehensive afterschool programming.
- Community Engagement: Represent CYC in community group and partner meetings to enhance program visibility, facilitate communication, and promote collaboration. Engage with students, families, and community stakeholders to ensure programming meets the needs of the school community.
- Compliance and Reporting: Oversee the local management of assigned contracts and grants, ensuring compliance with all standards, policies, and procedures. Maintain accurate and up-to-date database records and reporting systems in accordance with agency standards.
- Family Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with parents and families, providing opportunities for involvement in afterschool programs. Develop and implement family engagement activities and ensure consistent communication with the families of CYC youth.
- Program Development: Design, train, and model experiential, project-based lesson plans that develop key skills in communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. Prepare youth for key transitions and ensure that programming is aligned with the needs and goals of the school community.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Schools to support the successful implementation and growth of the 21st AVE program.

Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of five (5) years of youth development and related experience, preferably in a community-based setting with two (2) years of demonstrated competence and leadership in the field of youth development
- Desire and plan to meet the required educational qualifications set forth by funding sources
- Advancing Youth Development Certificate, Youth Worker Certification Levels I and II (may acquire at the first opportunity)
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Computer expertise (MS Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
- Energetic and outgoing personality
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends to meet program needs, and support neighboring schools (Miñoso and Randolph)
