Job summary

The Department of Energy Headquarters seeks a Program Manager in the Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office to plan, manage, and oversee R&D and demonstration projects focused on converting coal into high-value products and carbon mineralization technologies.

You will serve as an expert technical authority, explain agency policies to stakeholders, evaluate emerging technologies, advise senior leadership, and coordinate with contracting officers on multi-million dollar agreements.

Qualifications

• Basic degree requirement as described: 24 semester hours in physical science or related engineering.
• Specialized experience demonstrating leadership of engineering or physical science programs.
• Ability to explain and defend agency policies to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage highly complex programs and projects with budgets and schedules.
• Explain, interpret, and defend agency policies and technical decisions to stakeholders.
• Evaluate maturity and risks of emerging technologies and recommend solutions.
• Advise senior leadership with briefs, reports, and congressional testimony.
