CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills in San Antonio is seeking a Bariatric Program Administrator to lead clinical operations, accreditation, and program development.

You will manage data analysis, infection control, risk management, staff education, and marketing activities to grow the Bariatric program, drive patient access, and optimize resources while ensuring regulatory compliance and high standards of patient care across the service line.

Description CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - Westover Hills (CSRH-WH) is a 253-bed hospital serving the fastest- growing area of San Antonio. Specialized care includes orthopedic and surgical care with advanced spine surgery, Intensive Care, complex neurology for treating stroke and other neurovascular issues, comprehensive cardiovascular care from diagnostics to open heart surgery, vascular lab, sleep center, women’s services, a newborn nursery, the CHRISTUS Weight Loss Institute, wound care, rehabilitation, emergency services, and more. The campus also boasts an Outpatient Imaging Center, an Ambulatory Surgery Center, and four medical plazas, one of which houses our CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program and CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Family Health Center.

Summary

Responsible for the planning and overall clinical operations of the bariatric program. Manages ongoing clinical data analysis, infection control, radiation safety, risk management, program development, and implementation of processes to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of the bariatric program. Responsible for maintenance of accreditation with JCAHO, Texas Department of Health, Texas Department of Public Safety and the State Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning and overall operation of the bariatric program
• Manages ongoing clinical data analysis, program development, and implementation of processes to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of the bariatric program
• Requires ability to facilitate and lead patient seminars and staff education; ability to take initiative and meet objectives with no to minimal supervision; ability to plan and manage the efficient and effective utilization of resources; and projection of a professional image in appearance and attitude
• Participates in activities that market the Bariatric program
• Reviews marketing materials for accuracy and, when applicable, develops marketing materials to support the Bariatric program and reviews material with Bariatric team
• Effectively manages/coordinates assigned staff in a consistent manner
• Participates in the recruiting, hiring, orientation, development/training, evaluation, and when applicable, the discipline of assigned staff Effectively and efficiently manage and utilize all available processes and resources to optimize patient flow and maximize provider productivity while ensuring quality patient care
• Identifies, analyzes and resolves any workflow/process problems with regard to the bariatric program

Additional Information

• Review the patient’s file to ensure the patient has met the insurance plans criteria for bariatric surgery, prior to submitting insurance authorization
• Manages bariatric case files: submit the appropriate documentation to the insurance company/payer for bariatric surgery authorization. (letter of medical necessity, clinicals and additional insurance requirements)
• Ensure the office staff has the most current bariatric benefit policy for the various insurance plans, on file
• Patient Dietetic consulting, as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education/Skills

• Bachelor's Degree of Related Field (Preferred)

Experience

• Three years od current experience in the area of bariatrics, strongly preferred
• High level of interpersonal/communication skills to promote team approach
• Excellent written and verbal skills, required

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• Registered Nurse or Registered Dietician (Preferred)
