The New York Academy of Sciences is seeking a Program Manager of Awards to oversee the day-to-day administration of prestigious international scientific awards, collaborating with department leadership and a multidisciplinary team of PhD scientists. The Program Manager of Awards manages the day-to-day administration of a portfolio of prestigious international scientific awards that recognize outstanding achievements in research and innovation. Working closely with department leadership and a multidisciplinary team of PhD scientists, this role oversees all aspects of assigned award competitions, including nomination and peer review processes, coordination with expert juries and nominating institutions, and engagement with award recipients. The Program Manager combines scientific understanding with strong project management skills to ensure the successful execution of each competition while helping communicate awardees’ scientific contributions to broader audiences.

The Academy operates during standard business hours Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm ET. Standard work week is 35 hours, unless otherwise noted.
The Academy offers a flexible hybrid work model, which includes a combination of in-office and remote work. Specific in-office days are determined in coordination with the team and leadership. Flexibility is offered where possible, but regular in-person collaboration is required to support team effectiveness and project goals.
This role requires some Domestic & International travel (5%) within the U.S., India, and/or Europe, and other locations as needed is required. The Program Manager is expected to attend all jury meetings, award ceremonies, symposia, and other events as needed for all programs in this Awards program portfolio.
This position is primarily sedentary and performed in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, and video conferencing technology. Employees are regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods, communicate effectively, and occasional walking, bending, or lifting of light items (up to 10 pounds) may be required.
Salary: Up to $75,000 annually. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The salary listed represents a target range; final compensation will be determined based on multiple factors, including experience and qualifications.
