The AUKUS, Submarine and Industrial Base Group, within SPA's Sea, Land and Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities and includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy’s top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to the undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA’s decades of support to the SSBN force and/or assist in developing the design requirements for the SSN of the future. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition.

SPA is seeking an AUKUS Contract Manager for work at SPA Headquarters in Alexandria, VA. #MC

Responsibilities

The candidate will work as a Contract Manager supporting the AUKUS Portfolio leadership team. Responsibilities will include contract management, managing internal SPA business processes, developing spend and staffing plans, leading organic business development activities, mentoring SPA analysts, and ensuring quality of AUKUS contract deliverables. This is a nominative position and will require government approval.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years in Undersea assignments, including in leadership roles
  • Experience within Team Submarine
  • Experience with contract management, business operations or acquisition
  • Experience leading teams in developing rigorous analytic solutions to top-level government and military issues and addressing client questions and issues
  • Exercising independent judgment and ability to work autonomously without supervision
  • Current DOD Secret security clearance, and the ability to maintain it throughout employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Foreign Military Sales
  • Ability to develop business relationships and generate/maintain funding to support small to mid-size teams and work collaboratively with company executive level management
  • Experience in military operations analysis, including requirements definition, conduct of analyses of alternatives, the JCIDS process, and DoD Acquisition experience
