Salary Range: $60,000- $62,000 (non negotiable)

Qualifications and Competencies
  • Minimum of a Bachelor level degree education, social work, public health, community development/organizing or related field.
  • Possession of a Florida Director Credential.
  • Demonstrated management and supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience overseeing after school programming (preferable K-5). In default, at least 5 years of experience in school administration and supervisory experience
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Excellent budget management skills, ability to work effectively with electronic technologies, data collection and
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and ability to work effectively with youth and adult
  • Current Florida Driver’s License and good driving record required

Note:

  • This position requires independent travel between workstation and other sites. Consequently, the incumbent must maintain valid Driver’s License and insurance coverage on personal vehicle at all times during employment.
  • Performing the duties of this position requires the ability to walk, sit, stand, reach, talk, hear and lift presentation materials, including equipment.

Position Summary

This is a management position that requires supervisory experience and key decision-making skills. This position has overall responsibility for the daily operations at Gang Alternative, Inc.’s K-5 afterschool programming sites (North Miami to Homestead) and is responsible for providing overall program management and support to further the work of the program. This includes logistical and communication support to coordinate program business, administrative matters and to provide fiscal processing and tracking for receipts and payables, check requisitions and expenditures. This individual coordinates task and activities with Site Coordinators and other staff, assures all sites are in contract compliance; assures that reports are prepared and submitted on a timely manner and maintains communications with all program sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise program teams providing oversight on program planning, implementing, directing, and coordinating programs and operational activities.
  • Develop and implement outreach and recruitments plan for participants.
  • Design and draft internal and external reports (including those to the funder), and other products as relevant to the programs as well as reviewing, editing, and approving such materials as created by program staff.
  • Oversee daily program and staff operations while traveling to and from sites to ensure program efficacy, utilization and retention processes
  • Responsible for staff assessment, evaluations, staff retention and programmatic modifications
  • Train staff relative to funder changes and due process of systems and procedures.
  • Finalize and prepare all monthly and quarterly reports
  • Ensure maintenance of academic logs to ensure that all pre and post tests are administered within the accorded time frame
  • Analyze all pre, mid and post test results administered by staff members in order to ensure that participant has achieved proper reading fluency levels, and improved physical and social emotional at-risk behaviors
  • Responsible for all the Out-of-School and Spring and Summer Camp logistics processes. This includes planning, outreach and implementation.
  • Facilitate all parent-staff conferences in order to ensure participants are succeeding academically, socially and emotionally with all input, data and observation by the program staff members.
  • Engage parents of all participants to be involved in Monthly Parent Circle sessions.
  • Promote and foster a team culture which is client-centered, and solutions focused.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements/obligations.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices within the subject matter area.
  • Motivate and maintain a high-performance team by working with other senior staff to recruit new staff as appropriate, assuring effective staff development, and evaluating staff performance to help shape and articulate long-range program and policy direction of the program.
  • Attend meetings with affinity groups, particularly those involved in the subject matter area representing the organization in a professional manner.
  • Maintain strong relationships (including via coordination and facilitation of meetings) with vendors, consultants, business community and partner organizations and cultivating new relationships with these groups, where appropriate.
  • Oversee the development and employment of all necessary processes and systems required for implementation of the program efficiently and with fidelity.
  • Promote an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment where all program participants will be assured that they can and will be heard.
  • Keep supervisor informed of day-to-day activities, significant events or conditions impacting on client and/or staff well-being, team safety, and office operations.
  • Serve as an Ambassador of Gang Alternative, Inc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
