Job summary

Aleron in Elyria, OH, is seeking a Program Manager to lead cross‑functional teams from customer proposal and requirement definition through to production readiness, qualification testing, and transition to full‑scale manufacturing. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of program or project management in a manufacturing setting, preferably aerospace, automotive, or medical device.
  • Experience developing executive-level summaries and presentations.
  • Minimum 3 years of advanced Excel (pivots, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP).
  • Minimum 2 years of Microsoft Project.
  • U.S. Persons required – ITAR facility.
  • Up to 10% domestic travel.
  • Additional desirable qualifications: MBA, APQP/PPAP knowledge, Visual Basic programming, formal training in Program or Systems Management (PMI or equivalent), experience in aerospace/product development and certification processes.

Responsibilities

  • Proposal Review: evaluate technical and business aspects of customer requests, lead bid packages, and coordinate the statement of work, technical proposal compliance, engineering cost estimates, and program schedules.
  • Program Planning: create, monitor, and update detailed program plans that define the required processes for functional groups to achieve customer-defined milestones.
  • IPT Leadership: lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), coordinate design reviews with engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations, and enforce standard processes to ensure manufacturability and cost targets.
  • Customer Coordination: maintain positive relationships with customers, coordinate technical and program progress reviews, and provide executive-level updates.
  • Scope Management: proactively manage project scope, document changes, and ensure approvals through a standardized change management process.
  • Cost Management: monitor and control non-recurring engineering costs and maintain focus on design-to-cost targets during the Development phase.
  • Schedule Management: develop and maintain detailed resource-loaded schedules, communicate milestones to stakeholders, and prioritize tasks to drive milestone adherence.
  • Issue & Risk Management: identify, track, and resolve program issues and mitigate technical, schedule, and cost risks through a standardized risk management process.
  • Transition to Production: facilitate a complete and orderly transition of the product from engineering to full-scale production via a standardized readiness review.
  • Metrics & Progress Reviews: disseminate program metrics and data to stakeholders through standardized review and audit processes.

Level II (5‑9 years experience): $110,000 – $125,000 + 5% bonus Level III (10+ years experience): $135,000 – $150,000 + 7.5% bonus

Overview
