Job summary

HII’s Uncrewed Systems group in Mission Technologies seeks a results-oriented Program Manager to lead large, multi-customer programs from inception to completion. You will direct all phases, manage budgets, schedules, and technical performance, and serve as the primary liaison with customers and subcontractors.

This role requires 8+ years of progressive experience with a related degree or 12 years with high school, travel about 11–25%, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelor\'s in related field; 6 years with Master\'s in related field.
• 3 years of Program management experience.
• Military service in Navy or Marine Corps of at least 5 yrs on surface ships or with deployed Marine units.
• Position will require approximately 25% travel.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Position is onsite in VA Beach.

Responsibilities

• Directs all phases of programs from capture through completion.
• Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing programs/projects and serves as liaison between financial management and planning, project teams, functional team and subcontractors.
• Participates in the negotiation of contracts and contract changes.
• Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal technical and cost sections, statement of work, terms/conditions.
• Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
• Establishes/coordinates engineering and technical, integration and test and evaluation efforts.
• Establishes program budget and milestones and monitors adherence to costs schedules.
• Determines reasons and plans response for shortfalls in program revenue targets.
• Facilitates regular, professional team meetings across program team with active follow-up action items.
• Communicates complex issues/gains consensus with the engineering, production, quality, and other stakeholders.
• Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports, including resource utilization and risk management.

What you will be doing..

Responsible for the profit and loss of a large complex program. Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for serving multiple customers requiring developing and managing plans across several subcontractors. Responsible for overseeing a program contained at one primary geographic location however covering remote locations and multiple business functions and employees directly assigned to program. Program may require new technologies. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Develops new business or expands services with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees including management level assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

What we are looking for.

• 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
• 3 years of Program management experience

Physical Requirements

Job performance may require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
