Program Manager Description - Program Manager - Products & Services Privacy
Job Summary This role is responsible for leading and managing privacy projects and enable the HP Products & Services organizations in meeting global privacy, data protection, AI governance, and regulatory compliance obligations. The Program Manager serves as the operational backbone of the privacy organization, driving program execution, portfolio management, stakeholder engagement, project governance, reporting, and continuous process improvement. The role partners closely with Privacy Advisors, Legal, Engineering, Product Management, Security, Compliance, Data Governance, and business stakeholders to ensure privacy initiatives are prioritized, tracked, communicated, and delivered effectively. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in program management, cross-functional coordination, executive reporting, operational excellence, and organizational change management. Success in this role requires balancing multiple initiatives, driving accountability across stakeholders, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring leadership has visibility into program health, compliance readiness, and strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
Program & Portfolio Management
Lead the planning, execution, and governance of privacy and compliance programs across HP Products & Services initiatives.
- Manage a portfolio of privacy initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, resource availability, and regulatory commitments.
- Develop and maintain program roadmaps, project plans, milestones, dependencies, and delivery schedules.
- Establish and drive project governance structures, operating rhythms, and reporting mechanisms.
- Ensure initiatives progress according to established timelines and proactively address obstacles, risks, and resource constraints.
- Coordinate activities across multiple workstreams, teams, and business units to ensure successful execution.
- Monitor project health and drive corrective actions when milestones or objectives are at risk.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communications
Serve as a central coordination point between Privacy, Legal, Product, Engineering, Security, and business stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with business leaders and operational teams to facilitate collaboration and program success.
- Drive stakeholder alignment on priorities, timelines, deliverables, and decision-making processes.
- Prepare executive-level presentations, status reports, dashboards, and briefing materials for leadership reviews.
- Facilitate governance meetings, steering committees, project reviews, and stakeholder discussions.
- Communicate program progress, key risks, dependencies, and escalations to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and drive accountability for commitments and action items.
Operational Excellence & Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain project tracking systems, intake processes, workflow management tools, and operational dashboards.
- Identify opportunities to streamline privacy operations through standardization, automation, and process improvements.
- Create and maintain program documentation, procedures, playbooks, templates, and operating guides.
- Establish consistent methodologies for project intake, prioritization, status reporting, and resource management.
Risk Management & Compliance Coordination
- Identify, assess, monitor, and communicate program risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
- Track regulatory-driven commitments and compliance initiatives to ensure timely execution and reporting.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities related to privacy assessments, regulatory implementations, audits, certifications, and governance reviews.
- Ensure privacy programs maintain appropriate documentation and evidence to support internal and external reviews.
- Support regulatory change management by coordinating implementation activities and tracking business readiness.
- Escalate significant risks and blockers to leadership with recommended mitigation strategies.
Metrics, Reporting & Business Insights
- Develop and maintain privacy program KPIs, operational metrics, and executive dashboards.
- Track resource utilization, program capacity, project throughput, service levels, and delivery performance.
- Analyze trends and provide leadership with actionable insights regarding risks, priorities, workload, and business impact.
Education & Experience
- Recommended Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Public Policy, Legal Studies, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Typically 7-10 years of experience in program management, project management, compliance operations, governance, risk management, privacy, or related disciplines.
- Experience managing large-scale cross-functional programs within global organizations.
- Experience leading initiatives involving technology, software development, compliance, risk, security, or governance functions.
- Proven track record delivering projects in matrixed environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Experience developing executive reports, dashboards, and operational metrics.
- Experience leveraging project tracking tools, e.g. Jira/ADO, Smartsheets.

Pay range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowedge, skills, and experience.
