The Program Manager leads complex customer programs from early prototyping through full-scale production, ensuring products are manufactured to precise customer specifications. This role combines strong technical acumen with customer-facing responsibilities, overseeing documentation, production workflows, and cross-functional coordination to deliver high-quality electronic products in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities
  • Interface directly with customers to manage products and projects from prototype through production, serving as the primary point of contact throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Discuss and manage customer schedules, development criteria, production issues, Return Material Authorizations (RMA), root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
  • Create and maintain Assembly Documentation, Device History Records (DHR), and manufacturing tooling requirements to ensure products meet customer and regulatory specifications.
  • Develop and maintain process workflows that support efficient, repeatable, and high-quality production.
  • Coordinate with Test Engineering to develop, install, maintain, and qualify production test stations.
  • Troubleshoot test failures and develop clear troubleshooting guides to support production operators and test personnel.
  • Evaluate and communicate customer requirements, requested design or process changes, and manufacturing issues to cross-functional departments, ensuring alignment and timely resolution.
  • Work directly with production teams to resolve day-to-day production questions and issues on the manufacturing floor.
  • Lead the development of Production Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Value Stream Mapping (VSM) for assigned projects to drive risk mitigation and process optimization.
  • Manage project changes and drive continuous improvement initiatives in production workflows and processes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to production operators and other internal stakeholders to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Write or review quotes and Statements of Work (SOW) for new projects and revisions to existing assemblies, ensuring technical and commercial alignment with customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with quoting personnel to support cost updates, new assembly quotations, and the development of detailed statements of work.
  • Travel locally approximately 10–15% of the time to support customer meetings, site visits, and project-related activities.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in medical, aerospace, or industrial environments, including direct customer-facing responsibilities.
  • Proven program or project management experience supporting complex, multi-phase product lifecycles.
  • Industrial or manufacturing industry experience, with exposure to high-reliability or highly regulated products.
  • Hands-on experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and managing product configuration details.
  • Experience with SAP or similar MRP/ERP systems to support production planning, materials management, and cost tracking.
  • Proficiency working in CAD platforms such as Altium, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or comparable tools.
  • Ability to interpret and work with technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, production, test, and customer teams.
  • Ability to balance approximately 70% technical responsibilities with 30% customer communication and relationship management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • BS or MS degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with electrical circuit design, analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Background supporting OEM customers as a contract manufacturer or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with PFMEA and Value Stream Mapping methodologies for process improvement.
  • Exposure to AS9100 or other quality management systems in highly regulated industries.
  • Project management skills, including scope definition, scheduling, and risk management.
