Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field.
  • Must possess an active, unrestricted Georgia license in one of the following: LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist.
  • Minimum four (3) years of post-licensure clinical experience; supervisory or program management experience preferred.
  • Experience in school-based behavioral health, community mental health, grant-funded programs, and Medicaid documentation preferred.
  • Experience with grant management, program reporting, and performance metrics preferred.

Responsibilities

Job SummaryThe Apex Program Manager oversees the daily operations, clinical services, and staff of Gateway Community Service Board's Georgia Apex Program. The Georgia Apex Program is a school-based behavioral health program that partners with local school systems to increase access to mental health services for children and adolescents. This is a salaried position (8-5, M-F) covering Chatham, Effingham, and McIntosh Counties and may expand into other counties.The Apex Program Manager provides clinical and administrative oversight to licensed clinicians, associate-level therapists, and support staff; ensures quality, evidence-based service delivery; maintains compliance with Apex grant requirements and applicable state and federal regulations; monitors program performance; and collaborates with school systems, community partners, and Gateway leadership to support positive outcomes for youth and families.Essential FunctionsProgram Leadership & OperationsProvide leadership and day-to-day management of the Georgia Apex Program.Oversee clinical operations, therapist productivity, caseloads, scheduling, and program performance across participating schools.Develop program goals and initiatives that align with Gateway's mission and Apex grant requirements.Oversee program planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement to promote program effectiveness and organizational efficiency.Coordinate program expansion and implementation in new schools and communities.Represent Gateway Community Service Board at school, community, regional, and state meetings.Clinical OversightProvide clinical and administrative supervision to licensed clinicians, associate-level therapists, and support staff.Conduct regular supervision and staffing meetings.Review clinical documentation for quality and compliance.Provide coaching and consultation regarding evidence-based practices, ethical decision-making, documentation, crisis intervention, and complex clinical cases.Support staff development through ongoing training and professional growth.Quality, Compliance & ReportingEnsure compliance with Apex grant requirements, Gateway policies, CARF, DBHDD, Medicaid, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.Monitor documentation, quality improvement activities, audits, and corrective action plans.Recommend, develop, and implement program policies and procedures to support quality, compliance, and efficient service delivery.Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and grant-required reports.Monitor referrals, productivity, service utilization, clinical outcomes, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to support continuous quality improvement and grant reporting.Staff Leadership & Community PartnershipsRecruit, hire, onboard, supervise, mentor, and evaluate program staff.Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment while promoting employee engagement and professional development.Collaborate with Human Resources regarding recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and staff development.Serve as the primary liaison between Gateway Community Service Board and participating school systems.Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with school personnel, community partners, and other stakeholders to promote school-based behavioral health services.EducationMaster's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field.Upon appointment to the position, the employee assumes responsibility for meeting and maintaining all minimum qualification requirements, including applicable certifications, licenses, continuing education, competency validations, and mandatory annual or recurrent training.
