Program Manager

Full Time Pittsburgh, PA, US

Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management, coordination, and successful implementation of the program. The ideal candidate will have a master's level education or at least 5 years of experience overseeing programs, a strong understanding of the target population and individuals at risk, as well as those with substance abuse issues. Additionally, excellent writing skills and the ability to work independently are essential for this role.

Responsibilities:
  • Program Management: Oversee all aspects of the overdose reduction initiatives, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan to achieve program goals and objectives.
  • Budgeting and Resource Management: Manage program budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to a multidisciplinary team, including program staff, and external partners.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to foster partnerships and support program objectives.
  • Grant Management: Monitor and manage the award for the initiative, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, reporting deadlines, and program milestones.
  • Needs Assessment: Conduct ongoing needs assessments to identify gaps and opportunities for program improvement.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring program sustainability and success.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze program data, prepare comprehensive reports, and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to ensure program effectiveness and adherence to best practices.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of program staff and partners.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Master's or Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience overseeing programs, preferably in the field of substance abuse prevention or related public health initiatives.
  • Understanding of Target Population: Strong understanding of the needs, challenges, and cultural considerations related to people who use drugs and those with mental health concerns.
  • Substance Abuse Expertise: Familiarity with substance abuse issues, harm reduction strategies, and evidence-based interventions.
  • Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage complex projects, set priorities, meet deadlines, and achieve program outcomes.
  • Strong Writing Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise reports, proposals, and program materials.
  • Independence: Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while also fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  • Cultural Competency: Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and competence in working with diverse populations.
  • Grant Management: Experience in managing grants, including compliance, reporting, and budget oversight.
  • Data Analysis: Proficient in data analysis and interpretation, with knowledge of statistical software and data management systems.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving program goals.
