Job summary

Cumming Group in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Program Manager to oversee an Asset Renewal Program for a large educational institution. The role requires leading planning, design, construction and closeout across multiple projects within higher education and facility renewal contexts.

You will manage scope, cost, schedule and risk, coordinate with the client, and provide regular reports while ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and alignment with program goals.

Responsibilities

  • Regularly assess status and oversee QA/QC programs.
  • Lead a project team for large projects or multiple projects within a program.
  • Define technical scope of the project.
  • Review cost estimates and budgets.
  • Manage change orders with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Maintain monthly project budgets for current and forecasted expenditures.
  • Facilitate client communications and provide regular reports.
  • Achieve client objectives by successful project delivery.

We are hiring a Program Manager located in Los Angeles, CA to oversee an Asset Renewal Program for a large educational institution. The ideal candidate will have experience leading the planning, design, construction and closeout of multiple projects and have prior experience with higher education and facility renewal project types.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design processes for the project team to effectively monitor projects utilizing scope, cost, schedule, and risk to ensure the project meets the client’s goals on time and on budget.
  • Establish parameters for project team to assess scope, schedule, and budget changes to maintain compliance with the program goals and objectives.
  • Provide overall coordination and implement controls to ensure projects are completed on-time and on-budget per the program contract.
  • Partner with the project team to provide proactive solutions to any potential obstacles that need special attention during the project and oversee these solutions through to completion.
  • Regularly assess the status of work, establish, and oversee quality assurance and control programs for projects.
  • Lead a project team, either a large project or multiple projects or a whole program.
  • Define technical scope of project.
  • Review cost estimates.
  • Manage project level conflict resolution.
  • Manage change orders for architect, engineer, specialty consultants and construction contractor.
  • Maintain monthly project budgets for current and forecasted expenditures.
  • Facilitate and maintain communications with the client in addition to providing monthly/weekly/daily reports.
  • Achieve the client’s objectives by successfully managing the client’s project, goals, and objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attendance at work during normal business hours.
Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Exercise creativity and resourcefulness in independently managing the project effectively in a compressed timeframe.
  • Ability to distinguish between cause and effect of problems.
  • Actively listen and communicate effectively, clearly, unambiguously, and completely in both written and oral formats.
Preferred Education And Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years in project management, engineering, or construction management.
  • Prior experience with educational facility projects and/or facility upgrade projects highly preferred.
  • Preferred Certification: CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, LEED

The salary range for this full-time role is $152,800.00-$213,933.36 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
