Job summary

Cumming Group in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee complex capital improvement and campus modernization projects for a local higher education client.

You will lead project teams, manage budgets and schedules, coordinate consultants and contractors, ensure DSA compliance, and report to clients with clear communications.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in PM or construction management for educational facilities and holds CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, or LEED credentials.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Engineering, QS, Architecture, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Project Management, engineering, or construction management supporting K-12 schools or community college projects.
• Experience working with the DSA (Division of State Architects) required.
• Preferred Certification: CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, LEED

Responsibilities

• Define technical scope of project.
• Promote opportunities for repeat business and create highly favorable references through the effective coordination, administration, and communication of project tasks.
• Review cost estimates.
• Manage project level conflict resolution.
• Maintain monthly project budgets for current and forecasted expenditures.
• Facilitate and maintain communications with the client in addition to providing monthly/weekly/daily reports.
• Achieve the client's objectives by successfully managing the client's project, goals, and objectives.
• Other duties as assigned.

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to support a local higher education client in San Jose, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional to lead complex capital improvement and campus modernization projects within an active higher education environment. In this role, you will oversee projects from planning through closeout, managing budgets, schedules, consultants, contractors, and stakeholder coordination while ensuring compliance with DSA requirements and public sector standards. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, client management, and project delivery experience, with the ability to drive projects forward in a collaborative and fast-paced campus setting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The salary range for this full-time role is $150,400.00-$210,533.36 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
