Job summary

Senior Friendship Centers seeks a dynamic Program Manager to lead the Nutrition Program across Lee County. This in-office role oversees social dining sites, Home Delivered Meals, and nutrition staff, ensuring quality meals and service for older adults.

The ideal candidate is organized, energetic, and compassionate, with strong leadership and communication skills. Must be bilingual (Spanish/English) and ready to manage logistics across multiple locations.

Qualifications

  • Requires Associate’s Degree in Social Science, Food Service Manager, or related field, or commensurate professional experience.
  • Two years of supervisory experience are required.
  • Intermediate computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn organization’s systems.
  • Being bilingual in Spanish and English is required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate Nutrition department staff and volunteers.
  • Oversee ordering, portioning, packaging, and delivery of congregate and home-delivered meals.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and local funding requirements and maintain records for audits and visits.
  • Coordinate nutrition program operations across multiple sites and assist with outreach and fundraising.

Senior Friendship Centers is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead our Nutrition Program throughout Lee County.In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee our social dining sites and Home Delivered Meals program, ensuring older adults throughout the community receive nutritious meals and exceptional service. You will supervise dining site and assessment staff, coordinate daily operations, and help ensure our programs meet all regulatory and quality standards. As part of our collaborative team, you will cover all Lee County Nutrition roles when coverage is needed.The ideal candidate is an organized, energetic, and compassionate leader who enjoys working with people and creating a welcoming, hospitality-centered environment. Success in this role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with the ability to effectively manage staff, coordinate multiple locations, and oversee the logistics of a large-scale nutrition program. If you’re ready to make an impact, we’d love to hear from you—apply today!Essential Functions:OperationalSupervise, train, schedule, and evaluate the work of the Nutrition department employees and volunteers. Make frequent personal and telephone contact and oversee routes to provide supervision, support, answer questions, and resolve problems.Oversee the ordering, portioning, packaging, delivery of congregate and home delivered meals, take service requests and resolve client transportation and food delivery issues, coordinate home delivered meal routes to ensure quality, food safety, and customer satisfaction.Assure full compliance and training to meet all federal funding and local funding requirements; including but not limited to the accurate compilation and submission of weekly reports on dining sites and home delivered meals activities, including tracking of meals, data entry, reconciliation of paperwork, and submission to the Nutrition Director and the fiscal staff, as applicable.Responsible for all recordkeeping to support monitoring visits, audits, and other evaluations.Responsible for complete and current dining client files/assessments.Attend Health Fairs, Expos for outreach, and volunteer recruitment. Participate in fundraising and outreach activities to promote the organization’s mission.Oversee and manages all internal data and sequencing of Home Delivered Meals.Coordinate the Nutrition consultant and food service providers to arrange for well-coordinated and quality service delivery. Arranges emergency meals as authorized. Works with and assists Area Agencies and other funders' needs and with monitoring visits.Oversees work of dining site; advisory councils; attends quarterly meetings, prepares agenda, and approves new members.Conducts and/or delegates “HDM Only” client assessments.Maintains all client files and documentation for “nutrition only” clients. Refers clients to Case Management when non-nutrition-based needs arise.Ensures processes and protocols are in place to collect, account for, and arranges for or provide the delivery of donation deposits to designated destinations; prepare reports on dining site activity; attend periodic meetings with supervisor, caterer representatives, other site managers, and nutrition specialists.Provides recommendations regarding expenditures. Responds to questions from other departments.Backup support to Nutrition staff in their absence, or where needed to fulfill program obligations and make regular site visits to all congregate sites to ensure compliance.Attend staff meetings, training, and seminars as required.Supervisory Responsibilities:Assessment Coordinator, Nutrition Coordinators, and Volunteers.Organizational:Must comply with all Senior Friendship Centers personnel policies.Must protect the safety and health of staff, volunteers, participants, and others by observing and following the organization's safety and incident policies.Other Duties:Please note while this job description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the primary requirements of the job, this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.Two years of experience in a supervisory capacity is required.Intermediate computer skills are required; Must have extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other basic computer software and hardware, and the ability to quickly learn the organization’s systems.Experience presenting to public groups is desirable.Physical Demands:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and prolonged periods standing.Must be able to lift 40 pounds.Must be able to independently access various departments of a given location.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
