Job summary

SHB USA seeks a hands-on Automotive Program Manager to lead and coordinate automotive programs and product changes while serving as a North American resource for customer quality matters.

The role partners with engineering, quality, manufacturing, supply-chain, and commercial teams across North America and Asia-Pacific; you will drive PPAP and 8D activities, manage cross-functional actions, and ensure timely issue closure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field; equivalent automotive experience considered.
• 5+ years in automotive OEM or Tier 1 program management or related areas.
• Ability to manage cross-functional projects, priorities, timing, risks, and customer commitments.
• Familiarity with automotive quality tools (APQP, PPAP, 8D, PFMEA, control plans).

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned automotive programs from award through launch, PPAP, production readiness and post-launch stabilization.
• Coordinate program timing, deliverables, open issues, risks, and cross-functional actions; elevate concerns early when milestones may be affected.
• Lead or support localization, manufacturing-transfer, engineering-change, component re-sourcing, validation and PPAP activities.
• Work with OEM and Tier 1 customers and coordinate with SHB teams across North America and Asia-Pacific.
• Serve as a North American customer-quality resource for containment, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Lead or coordinate 8D problem-solving activities and ensure actions address root cause with evidence.
• Support APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, validation, and change management as required.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings and communicate status clearly to customers and management.

SHB USA is seeking a hands‑on Automotive Program Manager to support our growing North American business. The role will lead and coordinate automotive programs and product changes while also serving as an important North American resource for customer quality matters. The ideal candidate combines strong program‑management discipline with practical knowledge of automotive quality processes and the technical curiosity needed to understand issues, ask the right questions, and drive them to closure.

This position works closely with customers and SHB teams across North America and Asia‑Pacific, including engineering, quality, manufacturing, sales, and supply‑chain functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned automotive programs from award through launch, PPAP, production readiness, and post‑launch stabilization.
• Coordinate program timing, deliverables, open issues, risks, and cross‑functional actions; elevate concerns early when customer milestones may be affected.
• Lead or support localization, manufacturing‑transfer, engineering‑change, component re‑sourcing, validation, and PPAP activities. This includes ongoing China‑to‑Malaysia production and supply‑chain transitions supporting the North American market.
• Work directly with OEM and Tier 1 customers and coordinate activities with SHB engineering, quality, manufacturing, supply‑chain, and commercial teams across North America and Asia‑Pacific.
• Serve as a North American customer‑quality resource when issues arise, helping coordinate containment, customer protection, root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and timely closure.
• Lead or coordinate structured problem solving and customer responses, including 8D activities. Ensure technical conclusions are supported by evidence and that corrective actions address the identified root cause.
• Support key automotive quality processes such as APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, validation, and change management as required by assigned programs.
• Facilitate cross‑functional meetings, maintain clear ownership of actions, and communicate program or quality status effectively to customers and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent relevant automotive experience will be considered.
• Approximately 5+ years of relevant automotive OEM or Tier 1 experience in program management, project engineering, launch, manufacturing, customer quality, supplier quality, or a combination of these areas.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cross‑functional projects, priorities, timing, risks, and customer commitments.
• Working knowledge of automotive quality tools and processes, including APQP, PPAP, 8D/root‑cause analysis, corrective action, PFMEA, and control plans.
• Technical aptitude and curiosity, with the ability to understand electromechanical products, manufacturing processes, specifications, test data, and failure‑analysis logic with appropriate product training.
• Strong customer communication, organization, follow‑through, and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working with global teams and with GM, Ford, Stellantis, or major Tier 1 suppliers is highly desirable.
• Experience with motors, actuators, seating systems, or other electromechanical automotive products is a plus.
• Ability to travel to customer, supplier, warehouse, and manufacturing locations as business needs require.
