Job summary

PCC Aerostructures is seeking a Program Manager to oversee assigned customer projects and act as the primary liaison between the customer and the plant. You will review project status, manage line of balance, and prepare regular status reports.

You will handle all contract and PO communications, coordinate with Engineering, Operations, and Finance, and drive on-time delivery while protecting program margins. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you may present at reviews and host customer visits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
  • 2–4 years experience in Program Management for the manufacturing industry; aerospace or defense preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Operations, Procurement, and Production Control to ensure commitments are met for product delivery.
  • Review and approve contracts for price and schedule accuracy in coordination with Finance for final approvals.
  • Coordinate with Engineering on competitive and sole-source proposal efforts and negotiate as necessary to ensure reasonable pricing.
  • Represent customer needs to manufacturing, driving priority through the plant as needed.
  • Interface directly with customers regarding production status, demand forecasts, and opportunities for additional scope.
  • Manage contractual commitments and identify cost issues to meet expected program margins.
  • Compile and review demand forecasting for all programs and coordinate with Operations and Engineering on capacity constraints to mitigate potential bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate internally and lead customer reviews as needed (Program Readiness Reviews, Program Management Reviews)
  • Serve as the primary point-of-contact/host for all customer visits.
  • Coordinating any post-delivery activities related to the product/program.
  • May occasionally perform and present on special projects; perform other duties, as assigned.

Location Profile:

Progressive was founded and incorporated in 1971 in Arlington, Texas. Heroux-Devtek Inc. purchased Progressive in 2004 who helped to expand the site which has doubled its manufacturing footprint and more than doubled sales and employee base. In August 2012, Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) acquired Progressive. In January 2022 Progressive merged with ADI, Aerospace Dynamics Inc. and now ADI Progressive is one of the largest footprints within the Aerostructures Division of PCC.

Predominantly, a provider for large, highly complex machined parts, kits and assemblies for OEMs and large Tier One providers for both military and commercial market segments. Progressive is a 140,000 square foot facility.

Position Summary:

The Program Manager has oversight responsibility for all aspects associated with an assigned customer project/program and serves as the primary liaison between the customer and the plant. This position reviews the status of projects, manages customer line of balances, and prepares status reports, as required. This position manages all customer communication pertaining to product information, inquiries, contracts and/or purchase orders, complaints and/or feedback, and has approval authority for contract or purchase order amendments.

Reporting Relationships:

The Program Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the successful management and execution of designated site programs. The position also maintains a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Director of Program Management to ensure adherence to contractual requirements, program governance standards, compliance obligations, and appropriate segregation of duties.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Operations, Procurement, and Production Control to ensure commitments are met for product delivery.

  • Partner with Quality to ensure products are manufactured according to requirements and specifications, as well as, adhering to Quality Manual and AS9100 requirements.
  • Coordinating any post-delivery activities related to the product/program.
  • May occasionally perform and present on special projects; perform other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills:
  • Strong prioritization, planning, time management, and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven track record building customer relationships
  • Experience using ERP Systems – particularly Syteline
  • Ability to lead others through influence and achieve objectives on time
  • Experience in Program/Project Management in machining/manufacturing environment
  • Understand/use techniques for effective control of quality, cost, and scheduling.
  • Knowledge of management principles involved in strategic planning and forecasting including people, material, and equipment resource allocation; corporate and human resource policies and benefits; leadership and teaming; and production methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point); Knowledge in Microsoft Project is helpful but not required.
Experience & Education:
  • 2-4 years experience in Program Management for the manufacturing industry; aerospace or defense preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with relevant experience.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
  • May be required to move items up to 35 pounds.
  • Daily duties may require sitting, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, operating, and manipulating hand tools.
  • Daily duties may require extended duration of walking.
  • Exposed to a Manufacturing setting with heavy machinery.
