Job summary

Bloomington Public Schools is seeking a Program Management Support Paraprofessional for the STRIVE program serving students with DCD needs at Oak Grove Middle School in Bloomington, MN. This role supports students both academically and behaviorally under supervision.

The position begins 8/25/2026 with a 6.2-hour day, 180 days/year. Eligibility includes a High School Diploma, 60 college credits or Para Pro, and PCA certification or ability to obtain. Benefits are offered by the district.

Position Title:
Program Management Support Paraprofessional
STRIVE Program - serving students with DCD needs

Paraprofessionals in the DCD ProgramParas play an important role in providing behavioral and academic support to students and are often the first go-to person for students during the day.This video will show you what a day in the Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) program might look like. DCD settings include the STRIVE program for grades K-12 and the THRIVE program for grades 3-12.

Salary: Class III ranging from $23.06 - $27.15 per hour
*Wage placement based on similar experience
Hours: 6.2 hours per day
5 days per week
180 days per year
Required Education:

  • High School Diploma
  • 60 credits post-secondary education or a passing score on the Para Pro Exam
  • PCA Certification (or the ability to obtain)

Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to pass a pre-work physical exam including the following requirements:

  • Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must have ability to push/pull equipment including standers, wheelchairs, etc
  • Must have ability to repetitively reach overhead
  • Must have ability to transfer to/from floor
  • Must have ability to kneel

Required Experience: Successful experiences working with speical education students in an educational setting preferred.
Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with licensed and other staff to assist students with academic, behavioral/social/emotional, instruction, and daily living skills.

  • Assist in implementation of assigned tasks including instruction and assisting students academically
  • Monitor student's skills of independence and implementation of classroom of individual behavior management programs
  • Assist with daily living activities
  • Communicate student's progress with case managers
