Bloomington Public Schools is seeking a Program Management Support Paraprofessional for the ACHIEVE program at Kennedy High School. The role supports students with special education services, both in special education and general education settings.

Starting ASAP, salary ranges from $23.06 to $27.15 per hour with wage placement based on experience. 6.2 hours/day, 5 days/week, 180 days/year, with benefits described in the district offerings.

• High School Diploma.
• 60 credits post-secondary education or a passing score on the Para Pro Exam.
• PCA Certification (or ability to obtain).

• Work collaboratively with licensed and other staff to assist students with academic, behavioral/social/emotional, instruction, and daily living skills.
• Assist in implementation of assigned tasks including instruction and assisting students academically.
• Monitor student's skills of independence and implementation of classroom or individual behavior management programs.
• Assist with daily living activities and communicate student's progress with case managers.

Paraprofessionals in the ACHIEVE program provide academic and social skills support for students who receive special education services for their specific learning disabilities. Support may be provided in special education or general education settings.

Salary: Class III ranging from $23.06 - $27.15 per hour *Wage placement based on similar experience

Hours:

• 6.2 hours per day
• 5 days per week
• 180 days per year

Required Education:

• High School Diploma
• 60 credits post-secondary education or a passing score on the Para Pro Exam
• PCA Certification (or the ability to obtain)

Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to pass a pre-work physical exam including the following requirements:

• Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must have ability to push/pull equipment including standers, wheelchairs, etc
• Must have ability to repetitively reach overhead
• Must have ability to transfer to/from floor
• Must have ability to kneel

Required Experience: Successful experiences working with special education students in an educational setting preferred.
