Technical Program Management Director, Digital Marketing

Technical Program Managers (TPMs) play a meaningful role at Salesforce in leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives within our Technology, Marketing & Products organizations. TPMs are responsible for programs from beginning to end, ensuring a better workflow and more effective communication. They work closely with executives and key company partners to drive critical programs and activities across the company.

As a key leader, the Director of Technical Program Management for Email and Messaging Platforms will transform Salesforce’s email marketing strategy, technology, and operations. In this high-visibility role, you will manage the current system while building a next-generation agentic email platform powered by Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud. You will accelerate product delivery and drive programs to build Agent‑first platforms that showcase Salesforce's capabilities. To succeed, you must align communication across leadership, product, and cross‑functional marketing teams. Supporting objectives critical to the CMO and CDO, this position requires strong executive presence and ability to transform traditional ways of working with AI.

Your Impact - Responsibilities
  • Lead programs by aligning across program scope, release planning, and vision, crafting program structure, and securing cross‑functional alignment.
  • Drive teams through the software engineering experience using Agile and analytical and technical skills.
  • Drive Steering Committee meetings with key partners for each program to make key decisions, remove obstacles, and ensure business goals are met.
  • Develop strong partnerships with key functional team members to focus on business goals and be a trusted partner for executive management.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teammates to drive workgroup alignment meetings to address release issues, dependencies, team status, production issues, metrics review, achievements, etc.
  • Lead "program/feature" dependencies across multiple teams, scrum teams, functions, divisions, and partners.
  • Anticipate and remove obstacles urgently to prevent project teams from failing to deliver on goals.
  • Provide monthly program reviews and updates at sprint reviews.
  • Create a collaborative environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and learning.
  • Be a catalyst within the organization, helping advance the Technology, Marketing & Products org strategy globally and driving others to change.
  • Create clarity from chaos.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of enterprise software/technical program or engineering management experience at a technology company.
  • 7+ years of conducting and leading SaaS product development programs; understanding of the SaaS business model and its lifecycle.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a history of hands‑on, detail orientation.
  • Deep experience with the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and team members.
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and relationship‑building skills conducive to driving consensus in a cross‑functional, matrix environment.
  • Experience with Portfolio Management.
  • Ability to master technical subjects and technologies relevant to the program.
  • Strong organizational, project management, analysis, and communication skills.

Compensation

Typical base salary for this position is $171,200 - $273,000 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range is $205,800 - $298,400 annually. The range represents base salary only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
