Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Program Management, Data & AI Applications professional based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to lead and coordinate complex programs at the intersection of technology, data, and AI-driven applications. You will oversee critical delivery activities, ensuring projects remain aligned with strategic objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Working closely with software, data, cloud, engineering, and cybersecurity teams, you will turn business needs into actionable plans and measurable outcomes. The position combines hands-on program execution with stakeholder engagement, governance, risk management, and continuous improvement. You will help coordinate technical delivery cycles, manage dependencies, and support successful software releases. This is an opportunity to contribute to innovative engineering and digital solutions while helping teams deliver meaningful results in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Accountabilities
  • Lead complex project and program assignments, ensuring delivery meets agreed timelines, budgets, quality standards, and intended outcomes.
  • Apply program management expertise to identify appropriate delivery solutions and support client objectives.
  • Coordinate activities across all program lifecycle phases, including planning, initiation, execution, delivery, and closeout.
  • Support program governance, administration, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and performance monitoring.
  • Manage program controls, track progress against objectives, and support benefits realization through ongoing evaluation and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate resources, schedules, dependencies, deliverables, and commitments across multidisciplinary and distributed teams.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions, requirements clarification, work decomposition, sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain delivery documentation and artifacts, including product backlogs, Kanban boards, acceptance criteria, release plans, decision logs, dependency trackers, and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate software releases across development, testing, deployment, change management, release communications, and post-release support.
  • Facilitate discussions between technical teams and stakeholders to balance scope, priorities, capacity, risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
  • Partner with software engineers, data engineers, cloud and platform specialists, and IT and cybersecurity teams to resolve blockers and coordinate technical dependencies.
  • Monitor program costs, performance indicators, risks, action items, decisions, and deliverables while maintaining clear reporting and accountability.
  • Apply commercial awareness and negotiation techniques to support successful transactions and program outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and adapt to additional assignments as program needs evolve.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and knowledge-sharing to support the professional development of less experienced colleagues.
Requirements

The ideal candidate combines extensive program management experience with practical knowledge of software and technical delivery environments. They bring strong organizational, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, along with the ability to guide complex assignments independently. The following qualifications and experience are expected:

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in project management, program management, or a related field.
  • Experience delivering moderately complex to highly complex projects, with the ability to manage challenging assignments under appropriate supervision.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, business management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Program management certification, or the ability to obtain one within 12 months.
  • Proven expertise across program delivery lifecycle phases, including planning, initiation, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
  • Strong understanding of program governance, change management, risk management, quality management, program controls, and performance reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and build alignment across different disciplines.
  • Experience coordinating software development teams through structured delivery cadences, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ability to facilitate discovery and requirements sessions, translating ambiguous business needs into actionable work items, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Experience using delivery management platforms such as GitHub Projects (preferred), Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery approaches, including Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid methodologies.
  • Experience coordinating software releases and managing dependencies across development, testing, deployment, and ongoing application support.
  • Ability to collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, cloud and platform teams, and IT and cybersecurity professionals.
  • Understanding of software delivery concepts such as APIs, databases, cloud platforms (Azure preferred), CI/CD pipelines, version control, and testing workflows.
  • Experience supporting technical solutions in software, analytics, scientific computing, industrial controls, SCADA/OT, utilities, or engineering-focused environments.
  • Familiarity with regulated or compliance-driven environments where documentation, traceability, quality management, operational reliability, and change control are essential.
  • Strong organizational skills and a disciplined approach to tracking action items, decisions, risks, blockers, dependencies, costs, and next steps.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and their application to requirements gathering, stakeholder communication, meeting summaries, documentation, backlog refinement, and solution discovery, with appropriate human oversight.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to adapt communication styles, facilitate productive discussions, and build trust across multidisciplinary teams.
  • A proactive, execution-focused approach, with the ability to operate as a tactical delivery lead or technical program manager.
