Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory seeks an Associate Program Leader for the Lethality & Signatures group within the IA Program to head a dynamic team delivering intelligence analysis and strategic projects for DoW sponsors.

You will shape resource plans, schedules, and budgets, provide leadership across the program, and ensure rigorous, high-quality deliverables in a sensitive, national-security environment.

Qualifications

  • Active DOE Q clearance at time of hire and ability to obtain SCI access.
  • Master's degree in physical science, nuclear physics, weapons design, engineering, political science or related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and extensive related experience.
  • Subject matter expert experience managing, leading, and supervising multidisciplinary teams for external sponsors.
  • Subject matter expert experience influencing and collaborating with partners and stakeholders to achieve objectives.
  • Experience supervising personnel and resource planning across scientific, technical, analytical, and administrative staff.
  • Ability to motivate and collaborate effectively to achieve programmatic objectives.
  • Experience working in a classified environment with SCI requirements and national security mission awareness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to present proposals and results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IA Program leadership team and guide institutional objectives.
  • Provide technical and analytical leadership on analysis of foreign nuclear weapons programs for government sponsors.
  • Identify and pursue program development opportunities and collaborate with multiple Lab programs.
  • Set short-term and strategic goals, develop annual research agenda, and deliver high-quality intelligence products.
  • Oversee project management for DoW-sponsored projects, including resource allocation and timelines.
  • Direct staffing activities, manage budget, and attract and retain staff with technical expertise.
  • Lead performance management and career development, implement mentoring for analysts and investigators.
  • Build strong sponsor relationships to ensure project execution and satisfaction.
