Job summary

Houston-Galveston Area Council seeks a Program Administrator to provide leadership and oversight for Child Care Operations programs. You will ensure compliance, fiscal accountability, staff supervision, and effective implementation of quality improvement activities across multiple programs.

You will manage budgets, monitor performance, and oversee policy development while engaging stakeholders and aligning with board priorities and funding guidelines to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
• 5 years of experience with local government, nonprofit programs, schools, or related duties.
• Experience managing grants or regulatory compliance programs.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and data management systems.
• Ability to communicate regulatory requirements clearly to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for Child Care Operations programs and initiatives.
• Exercise independent judgment in resolving complex operational, fiscal, compliance, and programmatic issues.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, workflows, internal controls, and quality assurance processes.
• Direct fiscal and programmatic oversight including budgets, expenditures, and financial tracking.
• Ensure compliance and program integrity through monitoring, risk assessments, and audits readiness.
• Monitor program performance and outcomes using data analysis and reporting.
• Lead staff development and foster a culture of continuous learning and customer service.
• Build partnerships with internal departments, contractors, and stakeholders.
