Job summary

The Illinois State Board of Education seeks a Program and Grant Management professional to lead the annual school registration and recognition processes in Springfield or Chicago. The role involves interpreting federal and state requirements, guiding districts, and coordinating with ROE/ISC offices to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities include managing compliance checks, coordinating grant program execution, and serving as the primary contact on homeschooling.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant professional experience.
Two years of experience in PreK-12 public or non-public school or district, ROE/ISC, or state education agency.
Experience doing audits or compliance monitoring.
Experience working with data sets.
Experience with long‑range planning and coordination of work.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Teams, for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

Oversee annual registration and recognition for public and nonpublic schools, updating documents and records.
Visit schools annually to perform compliance checks and coordinate with ROE/ISC on requirements.
Review and approve compliance monitoring reports and address noncompliance issues.
Provide technical assistance on registration and recognition processes to districts.
Manage MOUs, intergovernmental agreements, data sets, and lists for internal/external use.
Serve as the Agency's point of contact on homeschooling and related duties.
