Job summary

Orion Innovation is seeking a Program Financial Analyst to support budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting for key programs. You will partner with program leadership to track spending, analyze variances, and ensure accuracy in accruals, invoicing, and month-end close.

The ideal candidate has a Finance-related degree, 2–3+ years in financial analysis, strong FP&A experience, advanced Excel skills, and a proven ability to work in a project-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 2–3+ years of relevant experience in a financial analyst or similar finance roles.
  • Experience in a project-based or program management environment preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills for financial modelling, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
  • Strong FP&A experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Understanding accruals, invoicing, and month-end close processes.

Program Financial Analyst Job Description:
  • Develops and maintains program budgets and financial forecasts
  • Tracks and reports on program spending, comparing actuals to budget and identifying variances
  • Analyzes financial data to identify risks, opportunities, and trends for program leadership
  • Manages procurements, SOWs, accruals, invoicing, and financial reconciliation processes for the program
Skill Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 2-3+ years of relevant experience in a financial analyst, or similar finance roles
  • Experience working within a project-based or program management environment is strongly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modelling, pivot tables, complex formulas (e.g., VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH), and data analysis
  • Strong experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), with demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and performing detailed variance analysis (actuals vs. budget/forecast)
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, particularly around accruals, invoicing, and the month-end close and reconciliation process
