Job summary

Tenneco is seeking a Program Engineer for Light Vehicle or CTOH to provide engineering support, coordinating functions to launch concepts through production. You will identify opportunities and lead program launches with the Product Engineering team, including DFMEA/DVP&R activities and customer reviews.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, at least 4 years in engineering product development, and experience with elastomer technology. Occasional travel up to 35% will be needed.

Qualifications

• BS, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering functions developing and releasing product, preferably in elastomer technology.
• Strong communication skills (written, oral and presentation).
• Experience with Elastomer product design and development.

Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities and lead activities to secure new business.
• Monitor markets to seek out and recommend new product/application opportunities.
• Lead all program launch and design requirements with Product Engineering team.
• Guide DFMEA and DVP&R activities using GCC resources to complete the task.
• Provide concepts and inputs for product design and participate in quotes and technical reviews.
• Support Business Units, Manufacturing, and customer groups; support TENPlus process and program management.
• Support VA/VE initiatives through product, process, and purchasing initiatives.
• Maintain awareness of technical specialties and advancements in the industry.
• Support and direct prototype activity as required.
• Follow all company policies and procedures including quality management system, BOS and EH&S.
• Travel to customers and manufacturing facilities up to 35%.
