Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Program Engineer (PE) to support the Advanced Network Products Business. You will lead the design, development, and testing of complex networking products across interdisciplinary teams, ensuring the big picture is maintained through the lifecycle.

The role requires hands-on hardware fixes in lab settings, strong knowledge of hardware/software interfaces, and travel up to 20%. Onsite work at Carlsbad, CA is expected at least three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computing sciences, or electronic engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and testing of complex networking products as the primary technical resource for interdisciplinary teams and management.
• Champion requirements decomposition and integration for platforms like FSO, MOJO, MDD, NMR Devices, and NetAgility throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead root cause analysis for hardware and software defects with hands-on troubleshooting: log collection, cable tests, soldering, and termination.
• Manage program/event planning dependencies for customer demos to reduce execution risk.
• Perform technical design and code reviews while coaching junior engineers to foster team development.
