Job Purpose
This position is responsible for the overall management, supervision, and academic enrichment implementation at the program. Duties include daily on-site availability, training and supervision of the Assistant Director/Group Supervisor, and indirectly to Assistant Group Supervisors, PT Group Supervisors, Group Leaders, Consultants/Specialists, Youth Workers, and Volunteers. The Director is responsible for program development, implementation, evaluation, as well as fiscal oversight and management. Engages parents, parish schools, and community in special events, and serves as the liaison to Parish and school administration/teachers and funders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all CSS Policies and Procedures.
- Attend weekly CSS OST Director Meetings and other required/pertinent meetings/trainings scheduled through PHMC and DHS.
- Facilitate weekly on-site staff meetings, prepare agendas, minutes, and follow-up. Communicate program changes/shifts to staff, parents, and stakeholders.
- Supervise staff, including recruitment, hiring, and routine evaluation.
- Ensure effective utilization of the program by participants; manage ongoing recruitment and registration of children and parents.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with parents, principals, and teachers of partner schools to support academic outcomes. Maintain relationships with fellow CSS Program Directors, supervisors, and community organizations.
- Advise OST Administrator in developing the operational budget and adhere to budget parameters.
- Ensure timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports for CSS.
- Submit CSS financial documents accurately and timely, including transmittals, expense invoices, reimbursements, check requests, and receipts.
- Manage service billing for CCIS and Keystone Stars.
- Develop plans for facility maintenance in collaboration with the host school or site.
Programmatic Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement and develop curriculum aligned with PA Common Core Standards, including Project Based Learning (PBL) and academic enrichment clubs, integrating youth leadership and development.
- Attend school planning sessions to develop academic and leadership activities that produce measurable outcomes for students.
- Create brochures and outreach materials; participate in speaking engagements and update CSS OST Website and Facebook Page.
- Identify and pursue new program initiatives and funding sources.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Enthusiastic and passionate about working with children.
- Knowledge of and alignment with the agency's philosophy and mission.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Education (preferably in Early Childhood or Elementary Education) or Human Services, with at least two years’ experience working with children.
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania Common Core Standards for school-aged youth.
- Strong and effective communication skills.
- Organizational skills to document and update information routinely.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with co-workers, children, parents, pastors, principals, supervisors, and administrators. Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced environment are required.
- Ability to manage the purpose and vision of the program.
- Flexibility and multi-tasking skills to meet program needs.
Physical Requirements
While performing duties, the employee may occasionally stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, talk, or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office supplies up to 25 lbs.
