The Director reports to the Chair and advises the Associate Dean on academic affairs, ensuring high quality nursing education and compliance with accreditation standards.

The role emphasizes curriculum oversight, program evaluation, faculty development, student concerns, site evaluations, and preparation of self-studies;

Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate in nursing or a related field.
  • Earned Graduate degree in Nursing.
  • Eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher.
  • Current PA RN license or eligibility.
  • Knowledge of accreditation, curriculum design, and program evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with review and selection of program candidates.
  • Monitor formative and summative program evaluation metrics.
  • Review and revise program curriculum.
  • Meet/exceed expected program outcomes and benchmarks.
  • Develop action plans if standards or benchmarks are not met.
  • Assist Chair with academic planning and faculty deployment.
  • Respond to student concerns to resolve conflicts and grievances.
  • Prepare self-study reports for accrediting agencies and site evaluations.
  • Assist with faculty recruitment, development, evaluation, and mentoring.
  • Review clinical site evaluations with the API team.
  • Maintain relationships with accreditation bodies, nursing boards and stakeholders.
  • Develop initiatives to integrate the college with communities of interest.
  • Participate in recruitment information initiatives as required.

Job description

The Program Director reports directly to the Chair of Undergraduate Prelicensure BSN Programs, with secondary consultation from the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. The Program Director is responsible for delivering a high quality academic programming for students. Under the directorship of the Program Director, it is expected that the Program will be in responsible for program compliance with all professional and accreditation standards, guidelines, and benchmarks consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the Jefferson College of Nursing. The Program Director is accountable for successful teaching and learning practices within the Program.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the review and selection of program candidates.
  • Monitor formative and summative program evaluation metrics.
  • Review and recommends revision of program curriculum.
  • Meet/exceed expected Program outcomes and benchmarks.
  • Develop action plans if standards, expectations, and benchmarks are not met.
  • Assist the Chair with academic planning and faculty deployment.
  • Respond to student concerns to resolve conflicts, appeals, and disputes/grievances.
  • Assist with preparation of self-study report for accrediting agencies and participation in site evaluations.
  • Assist with faculty recruitment, development, evaluation, and mentoring.
  • Review and consult clinical site evaluations with the Academic Practice Integration (API) Team.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with federal, state and local constituencies, accrediting bodies, nursing boards, clinical agencies, specialty organizations, students, preceptors, faculty and alumni.
  • Develop initiatives to integrate the Jefferson College of Nursing and its communities of interest.
  • Participate in recruitment/information initiatives as required
Qualifications Required
  • Earned doctorate in nursing or a related field
  • Earned Graduate degree in Nursing
  • Eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher
  • Current, unencumbered PA RN license (or eligibility as required)
  • Knowledge of accreditation, curriculum design, and program evaluation
Appointment and Application

This is a 12-month salaried position with a generous benefit and retirement program. Academic appointment and salary will be commensurate with experience.
