Responsibilities

• Monitor instructor and student performance.
• Assist in client consultations and recommending appropriate treatments.
• Maintain professional behavior with clients, students, and colleagues.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in cosmetology.
• Contribute to curriculum development and program improvement.

Job description

The Cosmetology Program Director serves as a resource for Cosmetology students during their clinical rotations, ensuring they gain the practical skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in cosmetology. Program Director will oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of the cosmetology curriculum; develop statewide or institutional standards; ensure compliance with SACS, NC State Board of Cosmetic Art, and other accrediting bodies.

Essential Functions

• Provide supervision and hands-on instruction to cosmetology instructors and students during their clinical rotation.
• Demonstrate various cosmetology techniques and procedures, including, hair cutting, styling, coloring, skincare, and nail services.
• Ensure instructors and students understand and follow industry best practices, safety protocols, and sanitation standards along with following the policies and procedures of Southeast College and the program.
• Monitor instructor and students' performance.
• Assist instructors and students in managing client consultations, recommending appropriate treatments, and addressing client needs.
• Demonstrate professional behavior and ethical standards in all interactions with clients, students and colleagues.
• Stay current with advancements in cosmetology techniques and industry trends.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of cosmetology education program.

Qualifications

Must have an educational background in Cosmetology and hold a current South Carolina Cosmetology license. A Cosmetology Instructor license is preferred. Additionally, candidates should bring at least three years of work experience in the field.
