Job summary

Crossroads-Ymca- invites an experienced School Age Director to lead before/after school, break and camp programs across multiple sites in Lake County. You will oversee staff, partner with schools and communities, and drive youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

You will recruit and develop a large team, ensure quality and licensing compliance, monitor enrollment and satisfaction, and manage budgets while maintaining a safe, engaging environment for children and families.

Be a part of the fastest growing Y Association in the country!!About the RoleThis is a high-impact leadership role responsible for the success of YMCA School Age programs serving children and families across multiple sites. You'll lead a large team of staff, oversee daily operations, and ensure every child has a safe, engaging, and enriching experience. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and highly visible. You'll spend your time supporting staff, building relationships with families and school partners, managing program operations, developing employees, and creating exceptional experiences that advance youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.What You'll DoLead the day-to-day operations of before school, after school, school break, and camp programs.Recruit, hire, onboard, train, facility needs.Market programs and promote YMCA opportunities throughout the community.Respond professionally to parent concerns, staff questions, and operational challenges.Compile program statistics and evaluate program effectiveness to support continuous improvement.Support YMCA fundraising initiatives, special events, leadership meetings, and organizational priorities.Maintain a safe recreation, child development, human services, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in youth development, school-age programming, childcare, recreation, education, or a related fieldStrong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Experience supervising, developing, and motivating employees.Ability to build relationships with children, families, schools, and diverse community members.Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and other business technology.Ability to work independently while effectively
