Job summary

The Salvation Army ARC-Hampton Roads in Virginia Beach seeks a Full Time Rehabilitation Counselor to plan, develop, and evaluate a biblically-based program and advocate for participants. You will supervise intake staff, assign caseloads, monitor progress, and collaborate with participants to access services.

Bachelor's degree and 4–5 years counseling experience required; Certified Addiction Counselor preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and 4–5 years counseling experience.
• Certified Addiction Counselor preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, promotes, coordinates, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive biblically-based and Christ-centered rehabilitation program;
• supervises and trains intake staff;
• assigns caseloads to subordinate employees;
• manages and monitors assigned caseload of program participants in a rehabilitation program;
• develops program plan/goals and evaluates program participant’s progress by conducting routine meetings with participant and/or staff;
• serves as advocate for program participants in order to acquire services that will enable them to functionally cope with their environment.
