Job summary

Merakey seeks a Program Director for our Wilkes-Barre, PA location. The role offers a starting salary of $62,000 annually, plus mileage reimbursement, and warrants licensed or license-eligible candidates in LMFT/LSW/LCSW/LPC/LBS categories.

The candidate will lead a vital behavioral health program, supervise staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and oversee recruitment and onboarding while advancing Merakey’s core values.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required, psychology/counseling or related field.
• Two years in mental health setting; two years with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Two years of program management experience.

Responsibilities

• Developing and demonstrating a collaborative work environment.
• Creating a culture engaging employees and empowering improvement.
• Providing guidance, mentoring, feedback, and motivation to staff.
• Ensuring compliance with state, local, federal, and contract requirements.
• Overseeing the program's profit & loss and daily operations.
• Maintaining relationships with stakeholders and recruitment onboarding.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Master's Degree in psychology, counseling, or another health and human service-related field required.
• Licensed in PA or license eligible as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Social Worker (LSW), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Counselor (LPC), or Behavior Specialist (LBS)
• Experience in the behavioral health field with:
  • Two years in a mental health setting.
  • Two years working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Possess at least two years of program management experience.
