KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions seeks a SMR/AMR Nuclear Project Director to oversee all phases of major nuclear projects from planning to delivery. This senior role requires strategic leadership across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning for multi-billion-dollar EPC programs.

The director will drive execution, manage risk, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and coordinate with clients, suppliers and government partners to meet time, cost and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate engineering degree and PE certification; 15+ years in nuclear project work including senior PM roles.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities with deep understanding of nuclear industry regulations and standards.

KBR is looking for a SMR/AMR Nuclear Project Director, who is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of nuclear projects, from planning and development to execution and timely delivery. This high-impact role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in nuclear project management, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. This role is highly strategic and collaborative, ensuring the delivery of multi-billion-dollar projects while navigating the complexities of the nuclear industry.

With general autonomy, this Program Director can also manage large EPC projects having a TIC value, typically, of up to $1 billion. Alternatively, may have responsibility for management of two or more smaller projects.

Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Provides strategic direction and oversight for SMR/AMR projects, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Assures safe project execution to the client's satisfaction, consistent with cost, schedule and contractual requirements while maintaining bottom line responsibility for financial success.
• Delivers expected results for financial, HSE, client satisfaction, budget and schedule performance.
• Serves as prime point of contact between the client and company.
• Assures the project execution is in accordance with policies, procedures, systems, and requirements approved by the company.
• Manages and coordinates activities of all project personnel by direct supervision, through subordinates or through joint ventures, alliances, etc.
• In the proposal phase, works closely with Sales to evaluate and interpret requirements. May serve as a proposal manager.
• Defines precise scope of work and identify changes between the original proposal and final contractual agreement.
• Negotiates changes with the client.
• Plans the project execution and revises the plan as necessary and assures adherence to the plan.
• Keeps the client and company advised of project status.
• Leads the project management team and is responsible for the successful completion of the project.
• Abides by our business ethics.
• Job role is independently accountable for a large staff or support arm of the organization or a single profit/loss or revenue center, major product line, or support function.
• Leads and develops project teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Works closely with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, suppliers, and local communities, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
• Identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks associated with project execution, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety and quality assurance standards.
• Champions process improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Ensures adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations related to nuclear construction and operations.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

• An undergraduate degree in Engineering and possession of a P.E. Minimum of 15 years of experience in related projects with an average of 20+ years which includes several years of Senior Project Management level experience.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and profound understanding of nuclear industry regulations and standards
