Job summary

The Youth Project is seeking a Program Director to lead a team of Site Coordinators across a district, ensuring high-quality programs meet contractual obligations and student needs. You will manage district relationships and stay closely connected to frontline work, building strong partnerships with schools and community stakeholders.

This builder role requires people leadership, district management, and a hands-on approach to program delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in education, social work, nonprofit management, public policy, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years managing youth programs.
• Working knowledge of California Education Code requirements for expanded learning (ELO-P, ASES).
• Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable in front of partners and staff.
• Track record of building real relationships with institutional partners.
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation for in-district travel.
• Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred.
• Master’s degree and direct after-school program experience a plus.

The Program Director is the senior program leader for an assigned district or geographic area. You run the team of Site Coordinators, own the partner relationship, and make sure every site delivers high-quality programming that meets student needs and contractual obligations. This is a builder role for someone who can lead people, manage a district, and stay close to the work.

What we’re looking for

• TB clearance
