Job summary

The Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island is seeking a Program Coordinator for Horizons Academy at Abraham Lincoln High School in Coney Island. You will coordinate academic and motivational activities, build connections with students, families, staff, and partners, and drive enrollment and individualized support planning for high-risk students.

You will lead workshops, organize cultural trips, manage records, and help ensure program success with the team.

Qualifications

• Data entry and record-keeping skills.
• Previous experience with youth programs or community services preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with students, families, and staff.
• Experience facilitating workshops and coordinating events or programming.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to empowering students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Form positive relationships with participants, school staff, and parents/guardians.
• Recruit participants via social media, events, and meetings.
• Meet with eligible students to determine eligibility and service plans.
• Enter enrollment and program documents into DYCD connect system.
• Flag issues to Program Director and Horizons Academy staff.
• Oversee monthly programming and calendars for students and alumni.
• Supervise students in Horizons Academy Tech Lab.
• Provide workshops on College Counseling, Team Building, Service Learning.
• Offer external/internal resources as needed for students.
• Maintain participant files for audits with Case Manager.
• Attend required meetings and complete site visits during hybrid schedules.
• Chaperone trips and assist with guest speakers and cultural trips.
