Job Title

Program Coordinator – PhD in Nursing Education (Grant‑Funded, Contingent II)

Job Overview

The Department of Nursing has instituted the PhD in Nursing Education program. The Coordinator will support program development, teaching, and research, directly aiding the principal investigator and Department Chair, and will participate in committee and departmental assignments, including administration, data tracking, and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Lead recruitment and retention of PhD students.
  • Support curriculum development and program assessment.
  • Assist with grant writing, faculty development, mentoring student projects, and academic advisement.
  • Participate in departmental and college‑wide committees.
  • Provide assistance with program evaluation and accreditation activities.
  • Fulfill all duties required for the continuity of the external funding source.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing preferred.
  • Current or eligible unencumbered license to practice nursing in Maryland, Washington, DC, or a compact state.
  • Strong record of clinical expertise, assessment, and evaluation of student learning outcomes.
  • Experience with didactic teaching at the collegiate level.
  • Demonstrated expertise in nursing care across the lifespan.
  • Experience with nursing recruitment and retention.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with total program evaluation and accreditation.
  • Active record of scholarship and service at program, department, and university levels.
Conditions of Employment

This position is funded in whole or in part through an external restricted funding source. Continued employment is contingent upon the availability of these funds and the continuation of the project's approved scope.

Benefits
  • Salary: $68,000 – $72,000.
