Responsibilities

  • Gather, evaluate, and display data from student program assessments to track results in the Nursing program, such as SLOs, course and program completion, licensure exam success, and employment statistics.
  • Partner with the Department of Nursing to manage initiatives related to the Title III Activity Future Act.
  • Design dashboards, generate reports, and build data visualizations that clearly illustrate patterns and significant outcomes for faculty, administrators, and stakeholders.
  • Hold regular meetings with pre-nursing and nursing students to offer non-academic assistance and refer them to campus resources when needed.
  • Work closely with Nursing faculty and academic advisors to coordinate academic and non-academic support approaches with Title III retention goals.
  • Help faculty pinpoint gaps in student performance using mid-term and final course information and take prompt action to address them.
  • Lead workshops aimed at improving student preparedness and managing workload effectively.
  • Aid in assessment and accreditation efforts by analyzing and reporting data related to nursing program achievements.
  • Collaborate with the Title III Activity Director and various institutional departments to ensure initiatives align with overall university objectives for student achievement.
  • Take on other assignments given by the Activity Director.

Job Description:

The Department of Nursing is undergoing a process of growth and hasreceived a corrective action letter from the AccreditationCommission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) related to the programcompletion rates. The program completion rate expected level ofachievement was not met for the past three years (2025, 2024, and2023). With the recommendation from the nursing accreditation body,it is essential that the nursing program develops and implementssupport strategies to improve the program completion rates. Asshared by ACEN, “timely completion of a program study is a keyindicator of educational quality and institutionaleffectiveness.”

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’spreferred in nursing, social, behavioral, or health sciencesrelevant to the Title III Enhancing Undergraduate Nursing program.Experience with retention initiatives, strong communication,organizational, and problem-solving skills, and proficiency withspreadsheets, databases, and statistical software.

Experience

Three years of higher education experience focused on assessment,retention, and student success. Skilled in data analytics andreporting with Excel, Tableau, or Power BI. Experienced in academicadvising for at-risk and diverse students. Preference forsupporting nursing or health programs. Effective collaborator withfaculty, administrators, and student services to achieve studentsuccess.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Data Management and Evaluation

Collect, assess, and present data from student program evaluationsto monitor outcomes within the Nursing program. This includestracking Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), course and programcompletion rates, licensure examination performance, and employmentstatistics.

Collaboration and Initiative Management

Work collaboratively with the Department of Nursing to oversee andimplement initiatives associated with the Title III Activity FutureAct.

Reporting and Visualization

Develop dashboards, generate comprehensive reports, and create datavisualizations that effectively highlight trends and significantresults for faculty, administrators, and other stakeholders.

Student Support and Engagement

Conduct regular meetings with both pre-nursing and nursing studentsto provide non-academic support and refer them to appropriatecampus resources when necessary.

Coordination with Faculty and Advisors

Partner closely with Nursing faculty and academic advisors tosynchronize both academic and non-academic support strategies inalignment with Title III retention objectives.

Performance Analysis and Intervention

Assist faculty in identifying gaps in student performance byutilizing mid-term and final course data, and take timely action toaddress these issues.

Workshop Leadership

Facilitate workshops designed to enhance student preparedness andhelp students effectively manage their workload.

Assessment and Accreditation Support

Support assessment and accreditation processes by analyzing andreporting data related to achievements within the nursingprogram.

Institutional Collaboration

Work in partnership with the Title III Activity Director andvarious institutional departments to ensure that initiatives areconsistent with the university’s broader objectives for studentachievement.

Additional Duties

Undertake other assignments as directed by the ActivityDirector.
