The Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) works to support networks, schools, and families with all issues
related to special education including instruction, interventions, and legal and compliance support. OSD
provides the tools and resources to ensure that all students with disabilities receive a high-quality public
education that prepares students for success. OSD supports networks, schools, and families with all issues
related to special education, including instruction, interventions, and legal and compliance support.
Reporting to the Business Operations Administrator, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for developing program project plans in OSD by managing lifecycles of each project from beginning to end that includes tracking, analyzing project performance metrics, strategies to support and meeting performance benchmarks according to timelines. This is a full-time, exempt position that will be paid for time worked on a salary basis.
Lead cross-functional initiatives across diverse departments to standardize and streamline
operational workflows, implementing robust process controls that ensure fidelity to project specifications and strict adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards with Business Operations Administrator
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in program management and/or project management in education or nonprofit sector required
Minimum of two (2) years of full-cycle leading program and/or project management preferred
Ability to deliver high quality projects in a fast paced environment
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
Knowledge of IDEA, ADA, and other relevant policies and procedures
Expertise in managing multiple projects
Strong collaborative skills (including - working with multiple teams)
Strong communication skills (speaking - including presentations - listening, and writing)
Ability to identify risks and opportunities
Strong knowledge of project management tools and resources

Employees are required to live within the geographic boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency throughout their employment with the district. The Chicago residency requirement does not apply to temporary/part-time positions, however, all CPS employees must be residents of Illinois.
